Top NHL Picks, Ranked

Calgary Flames @ Seattle Kraken

The case for Seattle here is thin enough that calling it clean would be overselling it, the goaltending edge with Cooley over Grubauer is the one real lever, and not much else lines up behind it. The concern is that the raw scoring math actually bends toward Calgary, which is exactly why this sits at a lean and not higher.

San Jose Sharks @ Los Angeles Kings

Askarov gives San Jose the best single reason to be here, and on a neutral sheet that goaltending edge would push this up the board, but nothing else is pulling in the same direction. The Kings come in on three more days of rest than the Sharks, and that kind of physical advantage is hard to paper over with goaltending alone.

Ottawa Senators @ Buffalo Sabres

Ullmark over Luukkonen is the cleanest edge in this matchup and the only reason Ottawa earns a spot this high given how modest the rest of the case is. Buffalo has two extra days of rest on Ottawa, which is a real and specific drag on what would otherwise be the strongest goaltending argument on today's board.

Chicago Blackhawks @ Florida Panthers

Knight's edge over Schmid is real and gives Chicago a credible case, but this is a lean built on one factor with limited noise around it, not a layered argument. Florida's defense limits shots at a clearly better rate, and in a building where the Panthers suppress volume, asking a road goalie to carry the whole ticket is a meaningful ask.
